Residential · inpatient treatment
Residential treatment — also called inpatient rehab — means living at the facility for the length of your program rather than travelling in for appointments. You get a bed, meals, a daily clinical structure and a team around you. What you mostly get is the thing outpatient care cannot give: distance.
That distance is the mechanism, not a luxury. When treatment happens in the same rooms as the habit, the habit keeps its keys to your life — the same phone, the same bar on the corner, the same evening at six o'clock. Residential care works partly because for a while none of those are within reach.
At Ona the average stay is around thirty days, though length of treatment is set by clinical need and your own progress rather than by a fixed calendar. Medical detox comes first where it is needed. Some people stay longer; others step down into aftercare sooner. Your treatment team reviews it with you as you go.
Who it helps. People whose using has stopped responding to willpower, promises or outpatient appointments. People with a co-occurring mental health condition that needs treating alongside. And people who have been through this before and know, honestly, that staying in their own house is what went wrong last time.
Residential care contains the rest of it: medically supervised detox, dual diagnosis treatment, and medication-assisted treatment where it helps. Confidential admissions, 24/7: (530) 869-6163.

Residential treatment is structured on purpose. Structure is what a life without the substance in it needs first, and it is the thing most people say they missed when they went home.
Our core curriculum — a nationally recognized, evidence-based program addressing physical, emotional and mental health, with life skills in stress management, communication and relapse prevention.
Medical and psychological assessment shapes your plan. Detox begins straight away if it is needed.
Regular one-to-one sessions with your clinician, working the specific thing rather than the general one.
The Living in Balance curriculum plus group therapy — the part most people expect least and value most.
Anxiety, depression, PTSD and trauma treated at the same time as the substance, not afterwards.
Professional chefs, physical wellness and recreation, and 270 acres to walk. Rest is treatment too.
You leave with a written relapse-prevention plan, continuing therapy and support options in place.
If you're reading this for yourself — or for someone you love — you already know how heavy this has become. What you may not know is how different life can feel just a few weeks from now.
Ona was built for the whole story: not only the substance, but the anxiety, depression and trauma beneath it. Our dual diagnosis program treats both together — gently, and at your pace — because lasting recovery demands it.

Every treatment plan at Ona is built around one person: you. Guided by ASAM clinical criteria and the evidence-based Living in Balance curriculum.
